Rio Curriculum, David C Cook

While serving as a designer in the curriculum department at David C Cook, I eventually designed the materials for our new children’s Sunday school curriculum, Rio. As part of that process, we hosted a practitioner gathering—a collaborative event where educators and ministry leaders came together to dream, plan, and help shape the future of the curriculum.

For this gathering, I designed a custom event notebook and journal that introduced the newly chosen Rio name and some early visual direction, as requested by the publisher. The piece included thoughtfully arranged sections for note-taking, a full schedule of events, and bios of every participant, helping everyone feel welcomed and connected from the start.

The design balanced clarity and inspiration, giving attendees a practical tool they could use throughout the event while also capturing the spirit of creativity and purpose for our gathering.
